We are looking at the possibility of moving to the Newport area, from the Dallas, Texas area. What cell phone networks have the best coverage in that area. One of us has Sprint/Nextel and the other has Verizon. If neither of these have good coverage, what should I be looking at?

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Alltel works best for my family, since we commute from Jacksonville, New Bern, the Beach to Morehead City almost daily, so there doesnt seem to be any dark spots in our coverage...

Alltel will become Verizon Wireless in a few months, so that might work since you already have Verizon.

Did not know that. As said before Alltel and Verison are the best.

I've never had Verizon so I can't speak for them but Alltel and US Cellular offer the best coverage for eastern NC. I've had US Cellular for 4 years now and the only place I've found that I didn't have any service was way out in the middle of a huge state forest in Bladen County Definitely very reliable service.

Verison is pretty terrible, but I am hanging on until the first of the year when Verizon consumes Alltel and gets their towers. "Everyone" down here thinks Alltel is best -- at least till the end of the year.
