I am considering moving to Wilmington in the summer of 2009. I currently live on Oahu, Hawaii and have been a special ed teacher for three years. I'm not necessarily ready to leave Hawaii, but am looking to get a graduate degree in Behavior Analysis/Administration and they do not offer any quality programs over here. I'm definitely looking for a laid back style of living. I have been doing some research and UNCW seems to offer an ABA graduate program that I would be interested in.
I would like to live and work in the Wilmington area for at least a year before going back to school. Can anyone give me some info about the areas in and around Wilmington that cater to mid twenty to thirty crowds? Also, anyone know of any prospective up and coming school districts to apply to?
Any info given is greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much!

Hi Ib808,
I think special ed teachers are usually in demand.(I'm a retired teacher) Check the New Hanover county schools, Pender county, and Brunswick county school websites. What do you mean by areas that cater to that age group? Do you mean apartment areas? E-mail me your questions at yevans@charter.net and I will try to get my daughters'(ages 21-27) input on it.
