I am seriously considering moving to the Wilmington, NC area. Are there jobs in that area? Does anyone know anything about the area?

There are jobs in Wilmington, but be prepared for a serious shock if you're in retail. Salaries for retail jobs are hideously low -- primarily because many college students will work for pennies compared to what a seasoned retail person should be paid.
If you're in a service type job, then there are opportunities -- especially due to the fact that Wilmywood is continually growing. Healthcare is also a good sector for the Wilmington area as there are many hospitals and other agencies within 30-50 miles of the city limits.

Best wishes!
