We are interested in learning more about this city. What are your favorite neighborhoods, and what do you like best and least about Wilmington? We look forward to reading your responses.

I'd recommend reviewing some of the other threads about Wilmington.

But briefly:
It has great places to eat and drink, great weather, and is a fairly 'vibrant' city, with nice beaches. But it is (structurally speaking) not designed to hold as many people as it does. Traffic problems, sewer problems, stormwater problems, crowded beaches, unemployment/underemployment, high cost of living, etc.

It has good shopping and retail areas, but it is a good distance away from the cities of SC and NC.

Overall, I haven't been very impressed with the housing. Downtown has some impressive places, but they are expensive to own & maintain. Forest Hills is beautiful, but is expensive. Wrightsville Beach is ultra-developed, and the prices reflect that. The rest of New Hanover County, for the most part is cookie-cutter subdivisions and strip malls. Across the river in Brunswick county is cheaper, but the cape fear bridge is a major bottleneck, and backs up traffic for miles during rush hour.
