Scuba Diving magazine has ranked coastal North Carolina number 2 in North America for "top overall diving and top overall destination". Number 1 for "top marine life", "top health of marine environment","top big animals",and "top wreck diving". NC also ranked 3rd for "top visibility","top advanced diving",and "top value". The ratings came from the magazines "Readers Choice" survey. 7000 readers responded. Fins up!

that is very interesting, although I admit I'm curious how it is that the entire state could be listed as a scuba destination, particularly when other winners are cities and towns like Key West, FL and Marathon, FL.

Actually that should apply to the Morehead city area. The rest of the NC coast is not as enticing. Within a 40 mile area there are numerous wrecks, sand tiger breeding areas, and just fun diving. My wife and I have been diving the crystal coast for 20+ years. The u-boat U-352 is just 24 miles off the coast. There is so much great diving, it rivals any Caribbean destination. bill
