There are two Evans family cemeteries in Greenville, both are covered in concrete.

At the mall:
Cemetery Space: Cemetery Sunday: Evans Cemetery, Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina

Downtown on Evans, next to the sheriff's office:
(Really old pic here.)
Evans Family Cemetery and Sycamore Hill Church

Also, on the corner of County Home Rd. and Bells Chapel Rd. (Barely in the city limits, but plenty of traffic.) there's a small family cemetery, maybe a dozen or so graves. I never paid much attention to it until I saw an actual funeral taking place there about five years ago.

Seeing headstones on residential property near the highway was definitely a new experience when we moved to Greenville in 2005. Saw this on quite a few parcels, mostly farmland in fairly rural areas. We also see it in Franklin County (northeast of Raleigh), where we still own a home.
