I have a potential job acceptance in Elizabeth City. My only reservation is that I want to live as near as the coast as possible. What is possible in this area?

You're about an hour from some of the finest beaches in NC.There's several small towns on the Currituck County mainland such as Coinjock and Grandy, that are between E.City and the beaches.Kitty Hawk is the closest beach town from E.City.I know several people who commute to E.City from the beach to work, primarily at the Albemarle Hospital.Hope this helps....

Like OBXfisherman said you are about an hour from the OBX. More particularly you would want to look for homes in Southern Shores on the OBX or Kittyhawk. You can find homes down here for between 160K (very low end) to 3,4,500K depending upon what you're looking for. Of course there are many homes that go way above the 500k also. Southern Shores tends to be a little higher end homes and Kittyhawk will have some of your cheaper homes. Although Kittyhawk will have many in the higher ranges as well. A good place to look for homes down here is in Craigslist or one of the plethora of realty companies.
