Jerseyj,

Thanks,....It's hard to find much information about retirement life in the Calabash-Shallotte area in general. Either it's the best kept secret, or not much there general?

Any additional info will be appreciated.

Default New Resident

We just moved to Sunset Beach, which is very close to the SC line, and we love it. There's plenty to do, at least if you're golden agers like us.

My wife and I are in the process of designing a home to be built on our lot in RIVERS EDGE in the town of Shallotte. We looked at many communities and decided on Rivers Edge because of its small town feel. If you have never checked-out Rivers Edge I think you should. "TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT"

Did you move to Palmetto Creek and if so how do you like it. I've really been following info about PC as I do like the community.

We're Sunset Beach residents- love the area, nice golf courses, great beach, but the beach is way too crowded in summer!

not crowded compared to New Jersey beaches. Just don't sit close to the pier and you will be fine

My brother bought in Calabash and swears its the best kept secret.....absolutely loves it. Nephew (his son) bought in Sunset Beach......other Nephew has been making trips down looking for 75-100 acres to build on, and he plans on subdividing for family members to build if they'd like...that size must be hard to find, so far has seen 20 and 30 acre lots
