The Bracket

The Results:

- Notre Dame def. LSU 24 -13. Close game for most of the first half where it's tied at 10, but LSU makes too many mistakes in the 4th Quarter along with Notre Dame making several defensive stands, only holding the Tigers to 3 points in the 2nd half.

- Alabama def. Georgia 42-16. In the rematch of the SEC Championship, #2 Alabama destroys the Bulldogs who apparently gave the Tide all they had in the Championship game. Bama wears out Georgia early and comes away with the blowout win.

- Florida def. Stanford 31-28 in double Overtime. What looked like a major upset for Stanford going into the 4th Quarter with a 21-0 lead turned into a quickly tied game with 21 unanswered points on the Gator side. The Cardinal tried for a 46 yard game winning FG was missed wide right, giving extra time to decide the game. Both teams score 7 in the first OT with Stanford on offense first, then going into the 2nd OT, the Cardinal hold the Gators to a FG. Looking to win the game for the THIRD time, Stanford went for it all on the first play.... but the ball was intercepted in the endzone, clinching the game for Florida.

- Oregon def. Kansas State 54-49. The highest scoring game of the weekend came from the Big XII and Pac 12 powerhouses as they went back and forth every quarter, putting points on the board. In the final 2 minutes of the game, K-State is driving down the field, looking to move on. But Oregon's defense shows up at the right time, stuffing the Wildcats on a 4th & 1 on the Ducks 24 yard line, with just 59 seconds to go...

The Final 4:

Numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 all move on for the chance to play for it all in South Florida.

- #1 Notre Dame vs. #4 Oregon
- #2 Alabama vs. #3 Florida

ND would probably win a close one against Oregon the way that Stanford did. Alabama would beat Florida - not sure it would even be close.
