Us against the world? Really? Please help me out with that mentality. I am a Duck and I have rooted against USC, Washington, and Oregon State so far this bowl season. My allegiance is with ONE team- Oregon.
You have to admit, the SEC has more haters than any other conference. Everyone wants to see the SEC go down. No big deal. I go on message boards all over the country, and more often than not, people hate the SEC more than other conferences. We have our bitter rivalries, sure, but many SEC fans will cheer for other SEC teams too. I'm a Gamecock fan. I hope to see them pound the crap out of the Gators, Bulldogs, Vols etc, but when those same teams take the field against non-SEC teams, I will cheer for the Gators, Bulldogs and Vols. That's just my take.
Now I know that the SEC isn't the only fanbase that does this. For now, I live in MI and I know many here who are backing the Badgers, Cornhuskers and Boilermakers (boy, that was a train wreck) in their bowl games.

And more haters. Anyhow, it's about Rose Bowl time and I don't want to debate this all day. As an SEC fan, this is how it feels to me. Apparantly my opinion is way off the mark.
Well, it really doesn't matter what the heck the SEC does. The honks are still going to spin results. Nebraska is trucking the UGA defense and Michigan is giving S. Carolina all they can handle and yet we are still going to hear how great the SEC defenses are blah, blah. Or we have people preempt things by saying it is a down year and that is why the SEC teams struggle or even lose. When all else fails, loser teams and fans glom onto some other team and chant SEC, SEC, SEC when another conference team wins something. It is pathetic, they know it and the rest of us know it.
It's really very simple. It is the result of winning 6 straight championships. Good luck to you if it becomes 7!

Not really. Most of us just laugh at most SEC fans. They are like children that grab and say, "Mine, Mine, Mine!" If one's team hasn't done squat for years or never has, you have no business gloming on to other teams. If you do, you're pathetic. It is really that simply. Now you are a Gator fan, so you have every right to tout your history and program, but Miss State, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vandy, Arky fans should keep their traps shut. Tenn is a has been, Auburn fans will live on their one year of glory and USCe and UGA are not all that great to claim they are elite programs. Now, there are certainly legit teams in the SEC- Bama, LSU, Florida are the three that no one can argue about. They have had dominant years and are generally consistent winners. However, the rest have had limited success or haven't done anything for many years, or beat on cupcakes inflating their record and then the media claims how powerful they are.
I have mad respect for those three programs And i think most people do to, but the rest are the result of a weak schedule and the media most years.

That is fair enough on Miss State/Ole Miss/UK/Vandy but I don't feel like you ever hear their fans much. USCe and UGA are in a bit of a tough spot. While they have come up short they are playing in the best conference which hurts their chances when you have so many top teams.
I'll concede your point on Auburn and UT fan though in recent years. The thing is though with the right coach the resources are there to win big which is not the case at many universities. If Petrino had stuck at Arkansas he would have had them a top 15 team every year.
