At most, two SEC teams will wind up in what will be the most vicious, no holds barred round robin in college sports history. Auburn plays Ole Miss and Alabama. Alabama plays Miss State and Auburn. And Miss State plays Alabama and Ole Miss.
Auburn has the toughest row to hoe because, in addition to Alabama and Ole Miss, it plays Georgia too. And whoever represents the SECW will have to face Georgia again. I'm an Auburn fan, but that's a little too much to ask.
Elsewhere, KSU and TCU will essentially be an elimination round. MSU will have to play Ohio State. Oregon likely has the easiest path outside of Florida State.
1. SEC dominates the too 6.
2. Tears will be shed. Teeth will gnash.
3. SEC will pound itself until only one or two teams remain.
4. Those who complained about it will then boast how SEC was overrated and conveniently forget that other SEC teams were who beat them.
5. Last SEC team left standing will win it all or not.
Discuss what? It's only October 28th and there's a LONG way to go. In the meantime, we can continue to talk about how great the SEC is and how the B1G and much of the ACC sucks.
I would hate to have Alabama on the schedule after that came out, that's enough to generate some anger and they're going to take it out on somebody. Auburn won't stay up there, they just let Spurrier's lowly Gamecocks put 35 on them.

We'll see. Using your same logic, Auburn should beat Alabama handily because Auburn blitzkrieged Arkansas while Alabama squeaked with a one-point victory in an astounding display of mediocre offense.
South Carolina has to be the most manic-depressive team in college football this year. After all, they were totally hosed by TAMU, a team that coughed up 59 to Alabama, and then turned around to best Georgia. If I'm a Gamecock fan, I'm taking some major mood swing drugs. The theory is that Spurrier is now just coaching the games he wants to coach and is calling in the rest.
The thing about the Auburn/SC game is that Spurrier pulled every trick in the book out of his bag, and was also going up against his old DC. Hard to say how that intangible came into play.
Alabama does have the easiest path to the final four, I'll grant you that. But they'll still have to beat Missississippi State, LSU (A team that was left for dead three weeks ago), Auburn, and presumably Georgia to get there.

Arkansas played inspired in that game, how does that prove your point, especially considering how Alabama has been putting up points so easily in other games ????
Long time lurker first time poster here, great forum. Thanks for posting the new rankings. I'm a Notre Dame fan... it doesn't look like ND has the strength of schedule that the committee is looking for. It sure will be interesting to see how the SEC shakes out.
