I tuned in to watch Cal vs Oregon and ESPN put Beth Mowins on the game to call the action. Does anyone really want to hear a female trying to sound "hard" with a low, husky sounding voice call a big-time game?
If ESPN wants to do "woke", couldn't they put her on a lesser game like Marshall @ N. Texas?
You do realize your TV and or remote controller has a "mute" button where if you push that button it disables the sound while still watching the game?? I hate Chris Collinsworthless on the NBC telecasts, but I'm not going to start a thread on the NFL board about how much Collinsworth sucks. What I do like any normal person is mute the sound and turn on closed captions!
I make frequent use of the MUTE button. I even switched to ESPN D to watch MNF in Spanish.
I do enjoy when they broadcast games with the crowd noise and referee announcements but have no other commentating. ESPN did that for part of the Arkansas and Ole Miss game recently and it was enjoyable. Fun to hear the crowd noise and the stadium announcer but no losers like Mowins, Danielson or (Fill in the blank)
I made the comment of why so many of the female announcers sound like Dykes and my son told me that in todays cancel culture/ PC / Entitlement society that I cannot point things like that out as it would offend someone. Even if it is mostly true.

The bolded doesn't have anything to do with it. She has put her time in and does a solid job. I get preferences, but there isn't any reason to politicize why she is there.
I will say that I'm more familiar with her as she is from the same area I live in.

I think she presents a bias in the way she calls games. But just my opinion when I watch and listen to her broadcasts.
