So this questions is not so much for service members but active military dependents...

im a dependent-i live at home and my dad (sponsor) claims me on taxes, which causes my federal grant, fafsa, etc. rewards to be around 1000 or less...my tuition is around 8-10 thousand per year.

are there any rewards or scholarships for military dependents?

I am sure there are 100's of them out there. Sign up for sites like Fastweb, put in your profile and you will get emails with the best matches for your situation. There are 1000's of unclaimed scholarship dollars out there for all kinds of things.

Is there a reason why you can't use your father's GI Bill?

Have your dad check with his benefits people. Fastweb is pretty "generic".

The GI bill is useful but because my father is using it, I can't.
