Take the CS classes you NEED.
Then rather than learn programing on the side, or maxing out your time taking extra classes, focus on extra curricular programs your college/university offers. Such as internships, research projects/groups, co-op opportunities.
These will prove even more valuable than the actual classes.
Unfortunately I was unable to do this as I had to work full time, and I wish that I could of. It gave people I knew invaluable experience and contacts when they graduated (Luckily I was able to obtain a great job after I graduated)
However I cannot stress enough to take advantages of these programs. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity
