Does anyone know of any bike clubs that do scholarships? My son has always said since he was about 5 that he was going to motorcycle mechanics school. Well he is a senior this year and just got accepted to UTI-MMI in Orlando, Florida. However I am a single mom and have been for many years. His father is in jail and has been there a lot of years and still has a lot of years to go. There seems to be no scholarships for technical schools. My son has never been in trouble in school or out and if I could get any help in making his dream come true would be great. He is specializing in Harley Davidsons the school has . Thanks

Is UTI affiliated with STD? PID?

No?

Okay, serious now. Have you tried any of the national scholarship search engines - fastweb.com, etc?

As a general rule, you're correct that there's not a ton of private scholarship money out there for technical training. In some states you can get the same degree more cost-affordably through a public tech institute or community college.

Some institutions have partnerships with private industry where they may not provide an upfront scholarship, but may have some sort of placement program for students who do well. Those would be good things to know about his program.

As a private for-profit UTI may have some of its own scholarship money, which you could find through their website or talking to their financial aid staff. You'd also want to look at their accreditation and check if they're eligible to participate in the federal aid programs.

Read this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Univ...ical_Institute and then do more research.
Do not let your son go to this "school".
The student debt will be large and the education useless.

OK.
My Negative Nelly answer does not help is deciding positive steps to take.

You and your son need some good advice.
Go to:
his school
Big Brothers
Boys & Girls Club
public library
and find how where you can get good advice.
