I'm not trying to live out "Old School" here, but I am 40, and looking for a good fit. Attending a school with a strong MBA program with concentrations in Alternative Energy, Finance, and Sustainable Business Practices is, of course, the most important factor.
I prefer to attend a school above the 35th parallel (lived in the South for most of my life, and I can't take the heat), where snow falls during the Holidays. This is not a hard and fast rule - - I just don't want to sweat involuntarily, so Southern CA might fit.
I would like a larger school (I know that's a relative term), and it would be nice to attend a school with a strong athletic program, especially in football. In a perfect world, I would meet my future wife in the next five years.
I'm single, no kids, and GMAT mock test scores are above 680, with a 3.o Undergrad at SMU (had a little too much fun in Dallas way back when). I will be pursuing full-on financial aid and loans. I have a very strong financial services resume (I know that sounds like "jumbo shrimp" or "nice Camaro" these days).
My goal is to work in a major financial city (San Fran/Chicago/NY, etc) for ten years or less, then retire to my Oregon Vineyard/farm and raise a family.
I'm looking at the University of Oregon - - but Eugene doesn't exactly have a bustling Financial District. I am taking the GMAT in late July, so enrolling this Fall is out of the question, but I would like to move to my future academic home asap, so I need to work this out.
