Hi, I am now a college sophomore at BMCC in New York. I want to try something new, New York City isn't all that exciting for me anymore because I lived here all my life. The south attracts me for some reason. I love to live in a college town and actually meet new people, especially college men ^__^. I want to play softball most likely for the school and be involved in the school. I am not happy in New York.
So I am planning to transfer to a college down south either Georgia State Univeristy, Florida State University, or University of Alabama. I did visited those states when I was younger, but okay to anyone who decided to move out of their parent's house and move to a completely different state during their college years, any advice for me?

I did but was able to do it on my own, so unless you (or parents) are independently wealthy or have a fantastic financial aid package or someone thinks you play fast-pitch (I assume) softball well enough to offer you a full athletic scholarship, find a senior institution in your HOME state.
How did you decide on those schools? They are all huge state schools. GSU is in the middle of Atlanta, not exactly what I would call a typical "college town". Because of their size, your chances of walking onto a sports team are remote, at best. If you are looking to play intramural softball, you can do that anywhere. None of the schools you mention have anything special to make out-of-state tuition worthwhile, IMO.
