If anyone is new to Colorado or hasn't yet seen this beautiful time of the year, do yourself a favor and drive out to Cripple Creek on highway 67.

They are on fire this year and I believe this will be the last good weekend to see them.

The best views are right near Gillette Flats, several miles before Cripple Creek. There were hundreds of cars lining the road taking up the beautfiul scenerey this morning, so be patient with all of the traffic.

A few pics

Anyone have some pics to share?

I heard the aspen tree foliage is very brief compared with other trees. Is that true?

We went today and I have some fantastic shots. But I missed some of the best light by about 15-20 minutes tonight. I'll post later.

Pretty! I miss it some. And yes, fall colors last only for a couple weeks and then its gone. I was quite surprised when we moved out here to VA and fall colors lasted for a couple of months. So far, its the only thing I like out here- fall colors.
But, I will take Aspens anytime over VA. SSSShhhh....DH just got referred to a position at Shreiver...maybe we are coming back?!! Say this little prayer OUT LOUD for me- "Bring Froggie's family back to CO as soon as possible." THe more prayers the better

Prayin' for you Froggin. These pics are gorgeous, just as I remember from years past. We'll miss them by a couple of weeks. But next year...
