Yes, I hope they last - I want rain every day in July and into August - we could use it!

The monsoon is here and we hope it stays a while, our HOA is over budget on this year's water bills.

You betcha! I live on the other side of the state (Fruita) and I enjoyed a big dumper of a storm cell that poured right over my house. 11 News GJ reported .71 inch in Fruita, this was a few days ago. Both of my sisters live south of Larkspur and they've had good rains.

Let 'er rip, that's what I say!

The rains are good. Just a break on weekends now and then would be good so I can hit the trails....or I could get up earlier.

Woo hoo! Welcome back monsoons, where ya been and what took ya so long to come back?! Seems like the monsoon season has been pretty weak the past couple years, but I like this pattern.

I think its really good for a state like Colorado where we can go 2-3 months without any good precipitation. I live in the Briargate section of Colorado Springs and we've had some very good rains up here since the monsoon season started.

We're having very heavy monsoon action here in Tucson, with massive flooding, heavy winds, but it's all at night, so the temps are 100+ during the day. The rains don't really cool us off, just raise the humidity to make it feel like New Orleans in August at midnight.

But, we've had a lot of fires south of us this summer, and now we're experiencing what we went through when we lived in Divide with the Hayman fire--floods as there is no soil or grasses to absorb the water runoff. Lots of embers, burned pieces of wood, ash, and mud slides blocking roads and making travel difficult. Like the area of the Hayman Fire, it'll take generations for the Huachucha (Wha-chew-cuh) and Chiricahua (cheer-uh-cow-uh) mountains to recover.

I just don't get it.

Why does everyone that is from Colorado Springs love the summer rain so much???
I see it as a depressing annoyance. You can't have BBQ's in the afternoon, camping is wet, washing your car is pointless, you can't leave your windows open when you go out, Colorado drivers drive 20 mph slower when it rains... and I could go on.

It is the one and only time of the year that you can wear shorts and short sleeves and be comfortable. But everyone from here wants it to rain...every single day. I personally would love pure blue sky all day from May to September. But, I guess I just like my summer to act like an actual summer - Hot & Dry.

PS. Please stop saying: "That's Colorado" and "We need the rain"

Why stop saying what is true - we're not Florida - we really DO need the rain. And I think it isn't much of an inconvenience, it is still warm enough to wear shorts, etc., - people here wear shorts in 40 degrees - you just need to adjust your internal thermostat. The rain is beautiful. And I hate hot, personally, so to me that is yet another plus for the rain.
