I know there are a few creeks running through Colorado Springs. Is there any good parks that we could go to and sit by one of the creeks and maybe have a picnic? Some with picnic tables or even a grill would be nice.

Cheyenne Canon is awesome for that, and I really love the park down by Mesa Ridge HS... has a frisbee golf course there, and naturally I am spacing out on the name of the park, but it's a really, really great park, one of the best in the area.

Not a creek, but those ponds at Fox Run Regional Park is nice to sit by for a picnic. I think there is a creek that runs around there.

I second the Cheyenne Canon suggestion. There are lots of nice spots with picnic tables all along the road. And there are a few tables (though you can also sit on the grass) in Memorial Park by Fountain Creek in Manitou Springs.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the info. I have been to all of the ones suggested on the previous replies and they were great. I think Helen Hunt Falls is great, especially for free. I moved hear from Louisiana where there is no clear streams or waterfalls so to me this was wonderful. Add to that the cooler and dryer climate here. This was the most pleasant summer I have had in decades.
