My wife and I are looking into moving from Kansas City to Colorado Springs. Actually we are considering Albuquerque NM and Las Vegas NV. I'm 42 and have alot of high volume call center experience and my wife, who is 35 is in the home health care field. She would like to stay in this field and I am open to just about anything. There will be no children moving with us so schools are not a concern. I am just looking for some good information about CO Springs - like what is a good amount to pay for rent for a 1 br apt or a 2 br townhouse. Also, is there tons of snow every winter??? Any information is greatly appreciated.

There is a lot of rentals on Craigslist but I'm tired of all the spam advertisements...gets old to open up a link and its...another advertisement.

I went to their Newspaper and looked for rentals. I did see a few small houses for around $850 to $1000 and some lower. I have heard so far the West and North have good neigthborhoods. East side is iffy. I'm from the Joplin area...looking into a move myself. Good Luck! I look forward to following your post.

One may search for rentals at both realtor.com or the local site, ppar.com and both sites have zip code and map-based searches.

Neither of these sites will frustrate you like craigslist (CL) will with is spammers and scammers.

Padmapper.com can find rentals but it relies a lot on pulling it's data from CL. Read the warnings on CL before diving in; if it sounds too good to be true, or comes with a story about the owner being out of the country, it's almost certainly a scam.
