Since Manitou often comes up as a subject on this forum, thought I would post this:

Manitou Springs ranked 14th-best hippie town

Yay, but I think it should be higher up there.
Boulder is GREAT...but too expensive, period...un like Manitou,
that should count for something, imo.

I have heard about Eugene...well, since the 70s! Ha!
Ashville also is a bit expensive, but such a great place.

Thanx

Berea, KY at #13 is confusing. Besides the students at the liberal arts college, the town isn't very hippie. And it's certainly not even close to being as hippie as Manitou.

Yeah, Berea surprised me too. My dad and Aunt lived there for a while and my mom went to college there. Maybe it is just the closest thing Kentucky has to being 'hippie', as no other place in Kentucky comes to mind either.

I've been to Eugene several times. I didn't really care for it. Never lived there, so perspective is limited. I do however really like Manitou, but I like the whole Springs area. Of course, my favorite parts of Manitou are the least touristy.

Hmmmm, may have to add Manitou to my list of potential places to relocate! I've been through it many times when I lived in Colorado, but I've never spent much time there.

Manitou is too expensive to buy there and no jobs to support the price of housing there.

And way to trendy for me.
