Hello!
I'm moving to Colorado Springs January 1 from California and I'm wondering about public transit. How regular are the buses? I'm not going to have a car and I know its going to be difficult moving around when the weather's bad, I'm just wondering how bad. Also, any suggestions on areas to move to? I'd like to be close to business/downtown areas without being right in the middle of them. I'm looking for jobs as a physical therapy aide, so if anyone has any suggestions, you'd be my favorite person! Cheers

There is no subway here and bus service is not that great by most people's standards. Best to check the city site:

Personally, I used to rely upon the mass transit here (back in the late 80s after I wrecked my car) and I think it's horrible.

I recommend to anyone moving here that if you can afford it, at least get a beater car as they are faster and more reliable than the bus here. Granted I live in Briargate but the closest bus stop is 2 miles (perhaps a bit more than that) from me. When I did ride the bus, it took forever to get anywhere and took a big chunk out of your day. I lived in Holland Park at the time and the time frame to get downtown to transfer to another bus to take you into Old Colorado City was a good hour. It only takes about 10-15 minutes by car.
