I searched the forums and didn't see much info on this topic, but what is life like for single women in their late 30s in Colorado Springs? I am considering a move from New York, and it would be great to have a sense of what to expect!

I don't think there's much of a "scene" per se. People tend to meet each other through work and extracurricular activities like sports, hiking, church, and so on.

Downtown on a Saturday night is full of couples and singles...especially in the summer when the weather is nice. There are a lot of single folks in town...with the large number of military bases. I don't know the stats, but I assume it's far more single men out there than women.

I think nowadays most folks meet other singles online through one of the match websites.

Cool, I get that there isn't much of a scene, but in the context of work, extracurriculars, etc., do single women in their 30s meet guys? I know this might seem like an odd question, but in some cities, this doesn't really happen, think some east coast cities.

Downtown is more the Friday night scene...everyone goes after work!
It is a woman's choice! 6-11 is best...most crowded...south of Kiowa on Tejon mostly.

There's a ton of 30'somthing clubs around here, geeks who drink, jack Quinn's running club, local bike shops, etc. there's tons of options for a girl your age. I'm 35, I may know something about this lol.

It is said that single men have it tougher here than single women of any age, just because of the military. Lots of dudes here on account of that.

It will depend very much on what you are looking for and what you are into, what kind of a "scene" you need to look for and try to get into and whether we have much of it, or even if we do how easy it is to find. Do you shoot pool? Many may not know it, but Colorado Springs has a thriving APA pool league scene. You can meet lots of really nice people through something like that, but they will be a certain sort...your down to earth, bar going pool shooting kind. If you are into outdoor activities like hiking, biking, that sort of thing, you'll find loads of company. But if you're looking for a place full of hip nightclubs with throbbing dance beats where you can show off your sexiest outfits and dance moves, we might not have as much of that as a bigger city...

If you could be more specific about what you like and what you're seeking we might give better advice to you.

Regardless, good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for!

Check out the MeetUp groups in Colorado Springs - depending on what you're looking for, you might find something there. As others have said - if you're an outdoorsy type - there are many options.
