These two things put tremendous pressure on parking in Manitou. The city of Colorado Springs now owns and manages the Incline (through the Strawberry Fields land swap with the Broadmoor), and their reservation system is at least partially designed to manage parking demand by limiting Incline access. Whether that works or not is a different story.

The city of Manitou did do a few things last year that might be worth reading about: https://www.kktv.com/2022/04/06/mani...-availability/
The reservations system to hike the incline has addressed the parking issue, so that has helped.

The weekend of the Pikes Peak race, an RV parked in front of my property (until I informed them of the permit parking, never mind that it was an RV!). They had tickets for the Cog, but there was no parking up there because of the race. so they were panicking. The Cog Railway should advertise and offer a shuttle bus on event weekends, and really any weekend because it's always busy here. If they can't provide parking, they shouldn't be selling tickets to folks who can't get to their train on time.

As near as I can tell, the parking changes have done nothing to improve the congestion - driving through town is always a nightmare. If I want to do a "to go" order from a restaurant (because I can't find a freaking parking space), I can't, because there's no way to pick it up. It would be nice if they'd allow folks to park in the middle lane for this purpose, but they don't.

Parking has always been an issue. no matter what the town implements to improve it. We only have so much room. I wish they'd do a better job of pushing the free shuttle. When I point that out to folks trying to park on the street, they know nothing about it. Signage when getting close to downtown would certainly help.

Picking up take out? For the inventive person that bends some rules...
take a stack of Independents in with you as if delivering them...also carry them out with you as if taking the old ones.
And always where a smile when talking to the cops.
The chances of a cop being there to ques you are slim.
Or carry a box in with you...same thing...put potato chips in the box.
