Colorado Springs road repair tax revenues surging in booming economy | Colorado Springs Gazette, News

There may be a lot of bad roads here, but the city is doing something to fix them. And at least they do it the right way. Not just patching holes, but rebuilding the road.

Yes and that's a good thing.

We all dislike paying taxes. However, a reasonable tax can better support the infrastructure and improve the desirability of living here.

The city recently repaved Woodman from Lexington east to at least Powers. I now enjoy driving that stretch. I don't mind paying the tiny sales tax increase.

I am very impressed with all the construction going on in general. I still hit the occasional pothole but overall with all the new revenue things are starting to look up for our roads.

Are the horizontal cracks running through Tutt & parts of Peterson intentional or flaws? There's so many that I almost thought it was to with ice or something?

No idea. I can't recall the last time I drove on Tutt.

I can say I've called in 3 pot hole fill requests over the last six weeks. They have all been completed and typically get them done in a couple of weeks. If your dodging holes on you daily drive, call em in.

A couple of years ago I contacted the city government about reporting potholes to suggest the city use a smart phone app to do exactly that. They told me there is such an app in use, it's called GoCoSprings and is found here.

I hate those cracks/splits! I purposely avoid Peterson when I go to that part of town for work, because I know it can't be good for the suspension on my vehicle. I am pretty sure it was not built that way on purpose. I just think they did a very lousy job...
