Perhaps this should be pinned because so many folks may be interested in finding hiking trails in the region.

The Gazette is re-running its series of Happy Trails, a compendium of short hikes in the region.

Happy Trails: St. Mary's Falls | Colorado Springs Gazette, News

I've been on that walk to St Mary's falls. It is a beautiful place. However, I remember seeing quite a bit of trash, e.g. paper and beer cans for just the first mile. After that, the scenery became much more pristine.

I guess it's just too much work for many people to clean up their trash or walk further.

I hike that one at least annually and I don't recall the trash you're talking about. However, the lower horseshoe of Gold Camp there can be a lot of dogs and people often leave baggies - depending on when you go they will be all cleaned up or they won't.....
