Last Friday night there was an accident on I25 SB (after Castle Rock) so a lot of folks were told on the radio to head over to 83 to avoid it.

I was going north to Denver for a Rockies game (great night!) on 83 and all the way from Parker SB was a line of cars going 3 mph all the way to Colorado Springs.

That must have been quite fun for those folks.

Again- the infrastructure is not in place for this population explosion and the legislature is too lame to even put a road/gas tax up for a vote.

Ridiculous!

Am I the only one that is put off by hearing a loud booming car stereo go by just about every three or four minutes or seeing a lot of homeless people and just plain shady characters meandering about? We live near the Cheyenne mountain/Broadmoor area and wouldn't have expected such a (dare I say it)..."ghetto" feel of the place. Like I said I am unbelievably relieved to be back in my state of birth but I am perturbed by what it's become/becoming. Are the "good ol' days" of the springs over?
IMO, Cheyenne Mountain/Broadmoor area encompasses the vast majority of the south-west part of town, so your specific locale within that area can have a tremendous impact on what your seeing. If you're somewhere around the West Cheyenne Blvd/ Cheyenne Rd area then yes, you will see a significantly different demographic of people than you will if you were off Lake Avenue, Star Ranch Rd, or Broadmoor Bluffs.

The "good ol' days" have certainly changed from your recollections of your youth. They also have divided up and relocated in other parts of town.
