I moved to Colorado Springs from Phoenix 40 years ago. At that time, my allergies in Phoenix were just awful almost year round. The killers were bermuda grass and orange blossoms. I used to sit next to the the electrostatic precipitator filter to just breathe. I was miserable.

Here, I'm allergic only to ragweed and that is from Aug 1 until we get a good freeze, usually late Sept.

The only way for your son to know is to try it. If I were you, I'd rent for one year.

Yeah, I had terrible allergies in Maine and I still have them here. I feel it is worse here because the warmer seasons seem to last longer.

I have had allergies since I was 3 mos old and am now 70. The problem with allergies is that they change. What I was allergic to at one time is not true anymore and what I was not allergic to, I am now. It changes all the time and no, I do not get it. After all the years of dealing with these issues, I have learned to go with it and treat when necessary and do the basics. I have lived in about 10 different states. One thing I do do is try and stay on top of it if I am having an issue. I also never leave windows open, keep a clean house and do not use alot of chemicals, in dry times I have a humidifier on my furnace, and air purifier in my bedroom, etc. Their are alot of things one can do to help the issue but you do have to live and not in a bubble. Staying away from smoke---any is a big deal. For me, the midwest was terrible and here, I have some issues but not so bad. I think it is dueable and just stay on top of it. Wish you all well.
