I'd say get a car as soon as possible, this town is not very easy without one, unless you carefully plan your life around not having one - i.e. find a good bike and a good job you can bike to, etc. Welcome!

Bring a jacket and gloves if you're going to be riding your bike - or maybe some long underwear and gloves - many days you won't need them, but there will be some days you'll be glad to have them. Other than that, I can't think of anything in particular right now.

Question metro system in CS

what about the public transportation system in the area. can it be conducive to getting around to most of parts of town where jobs are available and getting to some of the different schools in the area
BTW it is set. Oct 31 I will be IN COS!!!!

The city bus system here frankly sucks. Add in the fact they are doing major cutbacks to the transportation budget and you've got even an even worse bus system in the works.

I suggest you find a car, some kind of car, that will get you from Point A to Point B, even a beater. That crappy car may drink oil like mad and poof black smoke but at least you can mostly count on it to get you where you need to go. The routes here are horribly mapped out and in the middle of January when the wind is biting and the temps in the 20s, your bus stop may be a mile or more to get to and it may not be protected.

See if you can find a car in Texas as they probably are cheaper there.

Good luck and welcome to C Springs.

Welcome!

You must have a car. The bus system is very limited. You need your own car.

I'd be concerned about moving here without a job in place. Unemployment is higher than it's been in YEARS & YEARS.

Pay close attention to the complete weather forecast. It's not unusual for the highs to be in the 50s and the lows to be in the 30s - all in the same DAY.

Best wishes

The bus system is not that great, but if you live off of Academy you will be fine. Don't forget about sunglasses and sunscreen if you are planning to ride your bike everywhere. COS doesn't really have much to offer besides outdoorsy activities (like hiking, biking) so I'm assuming after long bike rides to your work and back you won't be too excited about what COS has to offer. Good luck!
