We're planning our annual summer trip to Colorado and this time we're looking at doing some rafting on Clear Creek in the last week of June. What experiences, good and bad, have any of you had with the rafting companies there are in the Georgetown/Idaho Springs area? We're trying to pick a good one to go with, but if they're really all the same then let us know.

We're novices to rafting so we'd want the "easier" trip down the river, at least for the first time out. If anyone can suggest another river in the area that offers a similar experience, please advise. We'd be willing to go as far as Summit County on a day trip to do this. Thanks.

Why not get away from the I-70 blob and head down 285.
Beautiful drive, stay at BV or Salida and raft Brown's Canyon. River Runners are great. RP

Not to mention if they go down to Buena Vista, they aren't all that far from all of the amazing rafting down the Arkansas River through the Royal Gorge. So much to do and see down there....

Mike is right in my opinion, the Arkansas around the Royal Gorge is well worth the drive. The Clear Creek is so small and right next to a highway, I can't see it being much fun.
