Hello, I'm thinking of moving to coloroado but im not a big fan of large cities but i love what they bring to a place. like the ability to get pretty much anything you want and a stable job. does anyone live in a smallish town that still has access to pretty much anything you could want/need? Ever since seeing the show "everwood" a few years back i have wanted to live in colorado mostly becuase the scenery is so beautiful, i realize the show was not filmed in colorado but actually in utah but i refuse to move to utah....

There are small towns all over the eastern part of the state, many within 90 minutes of downtown Denver. Hell, I'm in the north end of COLO SPGS and I can be in downtown Denver in 90 minutes.

For the most part, the eastern towns are flat, windswept, farming and cattle towns on the prairie.

West of Denver, you get into the foothills, with lots of good scenery and a 90 minute trip to downtown.

The list of such towns is fairly long, but regular commutes to downtown from the outlying areas is a devil, and gets old in a hurry.

The town of Woodland Park, just 30 minutes west of COLO SPGS (Pop 450K), offers great views of Pike Peak, is smallish, and is 90-120 minutes to the Denver Metro Area (Pop 3M+) and home to the best shopping within 600 miles. Lots of info on WP in the COLO SPGS sub-forum.
