As far as fly-fishing .... the blue through Breck is fishing great....my business partner enjoyed a great day in the snow last week. S Platte, Williams fork, Colorado River, Ark and Eagle are all considered prime locations to base out of Breck. Not to mention the many Blue lines all within an hours drive from Breck.

I own a Fly rod and reel manufacture...spent thousands of days on trout streams around the world....hold IGFA world records- well, a couple being certified as we speak. I might even guide a bit. maybe. ...

As for locations I'd recommend any of the following:

the Roaring Fork/Frying Pan rivers
the Rio Grande River near South Fork, Colorado
the Lake Fork of the Gunnison river between Lake City and U.S. 50

Guides are available on all these locations, and each location has "Gold Waters" and "Wild and Scenic River" designations which are catch-and-release only and yield very large trout. Each location is very scenic. The last two in particular are secluded.

I don't have specific names or phone numbers. I'd recommend googling those locations with the term "fly fishing." Any of the fly shops in Lake City, South Fork, Basalt, or Glenwood Springs will be able to recommend guides.
If you decide to fish on your own, as long as you're on public water, recall that guides have no more privilege than you do to fish it. I've had numerous confrontations with guides out of Basalt and their Orvis Hatch clients "locking up" favorite reaches of the Frying Pan. Sadly, this form of combat fishing has increased in recent years.
