I'm hoping to move out to CO as soon as I get a degree under my belt (I've been a stay at home mom for 7.5 years so a degree will be esssential). I'd like to become a teacher's aide so I can always be with my kids when they're home (days off, summers, etc.), however, I can't seem to find what is required of teacher's aides in terms of education for the state of CO. Can anyone point me in the right direction of finding this information? Thank you!

Thank you SheridanL. It sounds like a lot of schools don't require a degree of any sort, but our local technical college offers a 1 year instructional assistant associate's degree so that wouldn't hurt I'm thinking. Thanks again!

Most school districts require a background check along with a volunteer application.

Don't forget to look at special education para positions. You can be in the same school and get paid a little more than the educational aides.
