I'm looking at a business opportunity in GJ and would be relocating. I understand from searching here that the area is dry and pretty desertlike. Are there any areas within commuting distance where you could get property in the pines? I'd love to have a small acreage with scattered Ponderosa pine. Is that feasible or to I need to be prepared to live in the desert?

Thanks

Howdy Woodguy00, Grand junction sits in a desert valley on the edge of some very beautiful mountains. The city and surrounding suburbs have done a good job planting trees and the area around Palisade has many orchards and vineyards. If you look at a map you may see a couple of small towns called Molina and Collbran, just to the East of Grand Junction. You might want to take a look in this area. These towns sit in the foothills of the Grand Mesa ,which is a beautiful area full of lakes and forest. The drive into town is through a winding canyon but shouldn't be to bad.
