I have been working in the health care industry for over 20 years. Started as a secretary and then in a management level. I was fired a year ago and have been temping for the past year. I realize that I want to make a career change and am considering studying to be a medical sonography tech. Does anyone know if this is a good career to pursue or is anyone in this field and can provide additional information? Thanks.

Two new hospitals are open or are opening in northern Colorado Springs. I would still use the Monster and Careerbuilder job boards to get metrics on demand for that skill. Maybe you'll find something else that is more in demand too.

Medical Sonography is a great career with many job opportunities.....in States OTHER than Colorado. There are very little opportunites for work as a MS in Colorado because almost all hospitals will want you to have at least a year's worth of experiance. The same for (in CO) clinics. I suggest you go into nursing or a related field if you plan on staying in CO. However, should you decide to leave CO....jobs are plentiful els where in the US and starting pay is very high....Western US $25-35. Good Luck =)
