Strangely enough, that is the first thing that went through my head when I heard about this. I have been gone long enough now that tornado weather and tornados in general are a faint memory, but I remember the drills in school and every time I fly into DIA I am reminded that they are a problem.
Thankfully, DIA has some fairly clean bathrooms because I would hate to have to kneel down in a few I have visited in other placed around the country.

I have not been talking about the heat because its kind of normal now. However today will be the 3rd day in a row of 100° or hotter heat in Pueblo. Unofficially it has been 100° on Wednesday, 102° yesterday and I think it will be close to 105° today.

I am enjoying it. The high so far today unofficially has been 103 so not quite 105 but that's ok.
I would like some rain. However I will say the smoke has made for some nice sunsets. I took a few pictures yesterday and decided to post these 3.
In this picture I am actually leaning on the cement wall between Highway 50 and the side street. What I wont do to get a picture of Pueblo. Also, as you guys might be able to guess I liked the grid lock as it shows Pueblo can have traffic like the Springs and Denver.

And I am already sick of it. Anyone else get the sinking feeling this is the new normal climate here, long stretches of above average temps and smoky skies from endless fires?

Unfortunately this cycle will probably continue the next couple years, but I think it will slowly go back to the old much milder climate in the next few years. These last two years have been terrible for wildfires, and I really hope this doesn't continue for 10 more years.

We just moved back here after being in the Dallas area for the past 5 years. I agree the smoke and fires are sad but I think the summer weather here is unbelievable! Love it. My neighbors and friends are complaining about the heat and I am on cloud nine. The fact that I can open my windows in the evenings and have a cool breeze blow through my house makes me so happy. I can also go to my kids baseball practices and games mid day without melting and needing an immediate shower afterward. I think it is all a matter of perspective!

Yes, where people move from makes a huge difference. We don't have the humidity as much as the larger band of temperatures we experience through the days in the seasons. I've always liked fall and winter the most since my seasonal allergies only become and issue during the late spring and all through summer. We need more rain and snow to get rid of this drought worry.
