Has anyone compiled this? Anecdotal evidence points to Denver and Pueblo as pot friendly.

What about growing? Which counties are friendly towards growers?

Growing your own and possession of one once or less is legal thru out Colorado.
Individual counties and cities can regulate or ban retail sales but can NOT outlaw personal possession or grow.

You can grow up to six plants for your own personal use. More than that and you're going to run into a bunch of restrictions and legal paperwork and fees. The Front Range is the most pot friendly, but many rural counties including my own are not especially thrilled with the new laws. The medical marijuana stores here were shut down as county officials decide how they're going to regulate the cannabis biz, so people have to go over to the next county over (La Plata) to make legal purchases. If you are interested in a particular county, check out its official web site.

Crested Butte is pot friendly with 1 retail store & a 2nd opening soon or just opened. Both were medical stores that expanded to retail. It all happened without much fanfare.

Wink Ridgway - Medical and Recreational

I wish to address a question that had been at least on my own mind. Apparently only the sale of medical cannabis is allowed in Montrose County, and not within the greater county but only in town (i.e. Montrose). That turns out be in part incorrect.

There is a cannabis shop in rural Montrose County, located but about one-half mile north of the Ouray County line. But due dictates of Montrose County, only allowed to sell medical cannabis.

For recreational cannabis one will have to cross into Ouray County and travel further south to Ridgway. There is a shop there which sells both medical and recreational cannabis. It is located near the US 550/CO 62 intersection, that where one turns west towards the Dallas Divide, and on to Telluride. There is a Shell gas station on the corner, the cannabis shop is located just north of it.

This shop in Ridgway would be conveniently located for those traveling on into Telluride. But there is also at least one cannabis shop in Telluride which handles both medical and recreational weed.

Lest anyone wondered, hope this helps.

Recalling polling data from legalization votes, liberal counties voted overwhelmingly in favor of legalization.

"Small government conservatives" voted for big brother.
