I didn't say the price wasn't a factor. I'm pretty sure my expense report will raise a few eye brows if I expense two Uber rides in the ballpark of $80 instead of mileage at 57 cents a mile for 40 miles and 13*4 = $52 for parking. That would be ~$85 difference.
What crossed my mind was parking at the off airport location for business travel where covered parking is cheaper than economy lot at DIA during winter months. That way I don't have to worry about finding my car buried under 10 inches of snow when I arrive. One time I parked in the garage for $24 I got yelled at (figuratively).
I do take Uber at the destination instead of renting a car, but that makes both logistical and economical sense.

Got it. $80 Uber rides means you're a lot further than me.

I must have misunderstood this:

Yeah, I'm on the north side of Boulder.
Sorry, I did say that cost wasn't a factor . My bad. I expense my travel costs but I have to be reasonable. No way I can take Uber Black.

I did this a few weeks ago, worked pretty well. Just give yourself extra travel time. There's so many shuttle stops in that lot it took me 30 minutes from the time I got on the shuttle to get to the terminal.

Totally agree.

I usually try to park near the the gates where the shuttles exit, so that I don't have to spend that extra time on the shuttle. Either way, unless it's a holiday or Monday morning, there usually isn't much of a crowd.

My husband uses Canopy. He has tied his express toll account to it so it gives him an extra discount. He uses the valet parking so he's always first off of the shuttle. And his car is always waiting for him inside when he gets there. The last time he was gone for 4 days and the cost was $70. They also give points for every time you park so when we go out of town on personal trips we usually always have enough points to get free parking.

He has an online account with them so they just automatically charge his card and he can get a receipt to turn in for expenses online. He also doesn't have to wait in line to pay or go in - there is a special lane if you have your express toll tied to the account.

Not sure where he's coming from, but at $70 for me it's a wash for using Uber or Lyft and I don't put miles on my car.

I was curious so I went and did an estimate with U we. We are far west Arvada so it was almost $70 one way for us.

Interesting. Looks like you are about 37 miles versus my 27 miles. I can't believe it's that much more. My rate is usually about $40.
