This is the first time I've noticed this topic... and the title... can't help but laugh. This is news?

I've honestly never noticed this thread before, whether it's by a matter of not paying close enough attention or whether this is an old thread which just got bumped.

If the thread was titled "Colorado Springs isn't all that great." it would have been locked down long ago.

LOL! Maybe I should give it a shot and see what happens. No one can bash my hometown like I can!

I can hold my own in griping about Co. Springs, but I don't hate it. I don't hate Pueblo either, for that matter... just not that fond of it.

Oh, I think it would be open and have vigorous discussion. Colorado Springs does have some of the worst unemployment in the state after all so it is current "not all that great". Though it's still nowhere near Pueblo's "not all that great" status.

They have big issues coming with the possible downsizing of the military.

I admit Pueblo has economic issues, even tough we are the peak performer when it comes to manufacturing towns as that is not saying much since most are down 20 to 30%.

Admittedly, Pueblo has a lot of work to do, especially in education, unemployment, and crime. But, it seems that Pueblo still tries to move forward with its economy, while Springs remains stagnant and tied to a one pony show. Pueblo has become more diversified from steel out of necessity. Springs is also so anti-tax that it hurts their essential services. We also need to budget better though, but I don't see us putting ourselves in danger like our neighbors up north.
