The State Fair in Pueblo is okay but it tends to have alot of people (this my opinion of course) that look like they just crawl out of a Escape From New York movie. But the Chilli festival is a whole different beast. I have been to a few of them and I like them alot! Just a few things to remember is that the festival is HUGE(have your walking shoes on) and wear sunscreen because it gets really hot there too.

The state fair is Colroado's largest single event! As far as the people not sure what you mean by that? If you like fairs you will like it if you don't you wont. I suspect as Pueblo grows it will only get larger as well with even more concerts and events. I am excited about its future.
The best thing about it, in my opinion, is how every major city in Colorado wants it! Denver has tried to get it since the late 1890's, unsuccessfully of course, and over the years cities from the Springs to fort Collins have expressed interest. They are all jealous that Pueblo has the states largest and most prominent annual event.

I guess I will have to check it out Josseppie, I have never been - so not jealous of it. Any city could use the revenue and it should be appealing enough to fight for it. However, I am of the age where carnival rides make me ill and I have never been a big fan of country music, gives me suicidal thoughts. What else have I been missing out on? Right now the Chile Festival sounds more appealing.

I should qualify what I said. When I say the cities are jealous I am talking the politicians and business leaders. I know most residents could care less.
The Wild West Fest is in May and should be big. This is the first year so no one knows how big but for the PBR events tickets have been sold in over 30 states. Also, John Elway will be the parade grand marshel.

Personally, I have to give you that as I like snow. That being said this is the reason CSU - Pueblo is now the states fastest growing university as most people would rather have the warmer weather that we have over the rest of the front range. Also, why downtown will eventually grow more as people can do more outdoor events here then in downtown Colorado Springs because of the warmer weather.

LOL just dont go to the concert but there will be a fair in downtown, infact Union Ave will be closed for 4 days, and there will be a big parade. Plus many other events.

I have been in sales.
As far as politics I want to get involved in local politics. City council, county commissioner maybe even state rep for Pueblo. I would love to be the first Mayor if we get one back in Pueblo, how kewl would that be. I am just not at that place in my life where I could give the kind of time needed so I could be successful. I do volunteer for different organizations in Pueblo though.
At one time I wanted to get into national politics but I feel that once you reach that level it gets to personal and I don't want to subject me or my family to that. That is why you will never see me make fun of a President, even if it is a joke. I respect everyone who has been president of the United States even if I have not liked their polices.
