Anyone know if I can report someone that has been living & working in the Springs for almost a year & still has Texas plates? Normally, I wouldn't care, but this is a boss & she needs a kick in the pants! HaHa.

Besides, it's just wrong for her to not pay the fees & I have to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Call the local police or the El Paso County Sheriff's office and report her. The authorities used to treat this as a low priority, but with the buget problems, etc., they now look pretty lowly upon that kind of cheating. Also, if it is found that she has not registered her vehicle timely, there is up to a $100 penalty that she will have to pay along with the registration fees. A lot of people think this kind tax evasion is OK, but you point out quite correctly that it just shifts the burden onto those who follow the law. Report her.

I'm about to relocate to CO - how long do I have before I need to register my vehicle there and switch plates over?

What if she still has a home in Texas? Some people have second homes.

If she does not obey the laws about car registration then it's likely she does not obey traffic laws either. So if you leave it well enough alone, it's likely she'll get busted for both in time, and then you won't have to be involved.

FYI you have 30 days upon moving to Colorado to register your vehicle
with the state. Regardless of how many homes you own and where,
a vehicle should be registered to the state where it is primarily used.
I do not believe in reporting anyone for this however. Do what you want I'm just saying for me......

according to the link, you have 30 days to get a CO license AFTER you become a resident, and 90 days after official residency to register the vehicle.

Thanks for the info!
