Did my partner and I (mostly my partner) ever have a juicy conversation at Longhorn in the Vista tonight with a woman from Anderson who lives in Greenville, and who has a lovely daughter going to USC and in love with Columbia. My partner asked the woman if she liked Columbia, and after hesitating she crinkled her nose and then shook her head quickly from side to side. She said her daughter loves it, though, and that she herself is starting to like it more and more on each visit. She said that because she grew up in a small town she likes the compactness of downtown Greenville, that it's all right there and that she likes that. She said Columbia is really big and that she is still trying to get a feel for it, and that it is taking a while. She then said that really she does love Columbia. She also grew up a die-hard Clemson fan and now pulls for USC. I'm just sayin'. I can't help what happened, and I wasn't even the one who asked her if she liked Columbia. I'm a quiet person in general and listened a lot more than I talked tonight, as usual. When I read the beginning of this post to my partner he said it sounded as though I were trying to pick a fight. When I read the rest of it he said I should publish it. I've had three glasses of red wine, so I might just do that. None of this changes the fact that the woman loves Greenville.
So is this point of this thread to stir up another Greenville vs. Columbia argument among the city-data forum members that live in both metro areas? There are already enough threads on here discussing that BS. You want the Columbia bashing to stop yet you continue to stir up the hornet's nest even more.

I'm glad you're happy, but it still doesn't change anything for Cola.
I clearly stated that my post doesn't change the fact that the woman loves Greenville, and yet it got turned into a negative comment on Columbia. Wow, this is just incredible.

I thought you were trying to get a rise out of us, lol. I apologize.
