We are looking to rent in a suburb of Columbia within a 35-40 min commute. I've tried apartmentratings.com and there arent much. Can anyone give me there opinions or reccomend apartment complexes that are safe, clean, and family friendly? We are moving to the area and would like to rent an apartment for a family of 4 until we decided to take on a house. I'm just not looking for something overun with college students or knucklehead tenants either! Our price range would be $900 max preferably for a 2 bedroom. Is that in the ballpark of a nicer complex? Any info would be awesome.

I know The Waterway and The Reserve at Mill Landing are 2 of the nicer complexes in Lexington and that a 2BR runs around $850-1000.

Apartments Lexington SC - Lullwater At Saluda Pointe Luxury Apartments

Give these a try. We have friends who moved there with their 2 kids and love it. Just like you they wanted to rent for a year while trying to figure out where to buy. They've been there a little over 3 years now.

not sure what side of Cola you are focusing on, but on the west side (Ballentine/Chapin area) there is a new complex that just went up that driving by looks pretty nice. Close to the interstate, as well as shopping, the lake, etc while being out a bit from 'the city'.

Ballentine Crossing

may be worth checking out.
