Yes, at one time of course, downtown was a thriving retail area... before Columbus Square et cetera ran in downhill.

Now all that's gone or going (there was a rumor that Peactree Mall is soon to be history), and with the tren now being "stand alone" again, it seems downtown would be perfect for some retail.

I heard about Peactree Mall,single retail stores in the downtown area would be nice. I have a feeling some are coming before 2015.

There are just too many road projects down there.

Downtown Columbus really needs places like a decent supermarket... right now the Piggly Wiggly on 13th Street over the bridge in Alabama is all there is..!

I've heard the area in Phenix City between Dillingham and Oglethporpe Bridges is being prepared for some major happenings, a huge hotel for one.

That area would be prime access to downtown Columbus.

I haven't heard much on it, except that Phenix City will be bringing their Riverwalk on out that way, and the hotel will be on or near Brickyard Road.
