With more college dorms being build downtown for CSU,and with Troy business campus coming,do you think more retail stores should move into the downtown area?

I think that you will see more retail move into downtown. Restaurants are popping up all of the time. More and more people are moving downtown. Recently, an Outdoor World, based in Dawsonville, opened up a store along Broadway because of the whitewater project. With the presence of CSU, whitewater, and more living options, retail will continue to grow.

The Outside World-Gear from North Face, Mountain Hardwear & Hobie. Tents, canoes & kayaks.

That place is going to be really nice from what I hear. Hopefully it will have nice views of the rapids.

There seems to be a lot of historic buildings in the downtown area that would be conducive to retail. I hope there are plans to rehab these buildings for such purposes.

I know alot of people that would be interested in retail downtown but other than food, it dies at night and even with some food it doesn't do that great.

I can understand that. I just don't understand why everything is in North Columbus. Heck after 10 years,Macon rd is finally becoming a shopping hub again.
