Columbus State University has received the most money from private donations during a fiscal year in its 56-year history.

When its fiscal year ended July 31, the CSU Foundation had raised $12.7 million in 2013-14 - an increase of $4.1 million (48 percent) from the previous fiscal year's total of $8.6 million.

The CSU Fund also set a record. It collected $4.9 million of the foundation's $12.7 million total, surpassing its $3.5 million goal. The CSU Fund is the university's annual fundraising drive to support scholarships, academic programs, community outreach, student and faculty development.

Since August 2012, the campaign already has raised $51 million during its quiet phase toward the goal of approximately $125 million by 2019, comprising $100 million in Tier 1 projects and $25 million in Tier 2 projects.

Should be some nice projects coming out of the ground.

I know they are going to be using a lot of money for new dorms and tearing down the Courtyard 2 area. Have you heard anything about these projects they will be using the funds for?

I don't think CSU has plans to tear down any dorm rooms.
