We will be moving there, just want to get an idea of all the major ones, if anyone can put them in any kind of order that would be great of the largest chains to the smallest.

Thanks for your help!

Kroger is the largest, followed by Giant Eagle and Meijer. Wal Mart has a lot of SuperCenters, with comprehensive grocery areas too.

Columbus is so ripe for a decent grocery store chain to come in and blow these yahoos out of the water.

doesn't matter, none of them but wal mart is open 24 hours. It's disgraceful that a major city doesn't have any true 24 hour groceries.

Giant Eagle, Kroger and Meijer all have stores that are open 24 hours. I don't go to WalMart.

Giant Eagle, Kroger and Meijer are all big chains. There is a better selection and the prices are more competitive than in other areas I've lived (where stores such as Albertson's, King Soopers and Safeway were big).

If you like organic, there is one Wild Oats store, one Whole Foods, a Fresh Market, and two Trader Joe's. Those are the big names. There are also a few smaller health food stores (such as Raisin Rack).

You shouldn't have a problem finding what you're looking for, but it also depends on the area (store quality can vary by area, obviously).

Wild Oats is now a Whole Foods.

So, no Food Lion, Harris Teeters, Dierburgs, or Shnucks? Great.

Major: Wal-Mart, Kroger, Giant Eagle, Meijer

Mid-sized presence: Aldi

Few locations: Marcs (2 locations), Trader Joes (2), Whole Foods (2)

Huh? WTF is that level-stores: IGA. I've seen two or three of them.
