Can a Wii player read a disc made on a Windows computer?

In other words, if you store some jpgs onto a CDrom or DVDrom on your
computer - can a Wii player read those files?

Can you generally play typical audio CDs and movie DVDs on a Wii unit?

No. not stock. however there are plenty of (illegal) homebrew programs if you hack the wii console that will allow you to watch DVDs/play music, and stream data.

How is hacking your own equipment, that you fully paid for, illegal?

It's not, you just void your warranty. Also, if you mod the Wii to play pirated games, that is NOT illegal. Actually PLAYING those games is illegal, though.

I think that's a discussion for another thread.

I was pretty floored when I found out my Wii can't play DVD's. Really Nintendo?? WEAK...
