I have a Dell C521 with a 128MB low profile video card (PCI-E). I was thinking about upgrading to a 256MB or 512MB video card. The only problem is my power source is only 280 and low profile PCI-E cards that require less power are hard to find. Also, getting the right low profile bracket is not easy (only 2 holes when most cards have 3). What do you think? Should I upgrade and any help on finding a 3-hole bracket?
Thanks in advance.

Be careful upgrading a video card. You need to check the power supply as well.

Many people often overlook the importance of Amperage and its impact on their computers. You can find different types of Power Supplies on the market that supply more then enough Wattage to run your system. However, many of them lack Amperage, which is necessary to back offered Wattage up. Therefore, it is important that you know exactly how many Amperes your system needs in order to work properly, without PSU causing any problems or even damage to computer components.
True story, I blew out TWO power supplies on a computer I was building, both exceeded 600 WATTS because I did not KNOW about AMPS! A 350 power supply can have more amps than a 600. Liz
